INTO THE NIGHT

 Ordained knights,

Truthful,

Proud,

Keepers of peace,

Overflowing with love,

Embodiment of the River Nile,

Thee who answer to their every cry!

Though my colours aren't bright,

In your ranks,

I cross my heart in this place,

On this day,

Before you all, masses of Man!

Let the dagger kill me dead,

If I knowingly betray the honor of my words,

Let it stab and shred my heart to pieces,

Like shards of broken glass,

Mirror mirror, on the wall..!

If I turn my back of these ideals,

My vows,

Let me turn into salt, like I'm Lot's wife!

I vouch to keep her safe,

From present,

Her future, and her past;

The waters that swept Pharoh's army away,

I'll drink them in one gulp,

If she says.

If she orders so.

Into the night, I'll go

To sneeze the darkness away.

There is nothing I wouldn't do:

Midnight,

I'll drag the sun back,

'Causes she can't sleep, she still wishes it to be day.

For a few more hours, she wants to play.

My might, is my Love.

My longing to see, the woman she'll become.

A daughter I groom,

Oh, how fast the grow;

Yesterday she learnt how to use a broom.

Sweep, sweep.

Sweep my sorrows away.

Oh, young maiden, whom I love so!

I see the kindness of her mother in her,

And her poise, the elegance of a royal!

A queen. She's my princess.

Bedtime rituals are her best,

Fairytales I would manifest,

My stories fill her head.

Then a kiss on her forehead before she can rest.

Goodnight.
